RR:  Did I, have I told you this morning that I love you. 

LR:  No, tell me.  You’re sweet.

RR:  Did I tell you what happened to me in Columbus this weekend? (No)  I was out with Bill Swad and Bill was showing me some land that he was developing and how God was producing a harvest in his life.  A or six. 

LR:  He’s a sucker for little girls.

RR:  She turned out to be six, little blond, cute little girl. And she said, “I know you.”  She said, “You’re Lindsay’s husband.”  Well, I have gone, I have gone from being Oral’s son to Lindsay’s husband. step over and get yourself ready.  And we’re kind of informal here, she’s getting ready to sing, I have another letter that I want to always comes through for me.  And I want to share a miracle that my husband and I have received through your program.  For the past ten years my husband suffered with diabetes.  I felt helpless because he was growing worse and I could do nothing to help.  The pain medications were not working and the insulin shots had become such a daily routine. Finally he had to be hospitalized here in California. And the doctors said they had done all they could do.  It seemed like it was time to give up.  One morning I was visiting my husband in the hospital and I turned the television on and there was your program. disease.  You said to have faith and believe God for a miracle.  Then you began to pray.  And I joined hands with my husband and we agreed for a total healing.  Then you spoke a word of knowledge.  God gave you a word about diabetes that was being healed.  The next week the doctors released my husband from the hospital with a clean bill of health.  Thanks to God, my husband is a different person.  He is healed from his head to his toes.” (Applause)  Now that’s a miracle. You know, I thank God for the prayer and I thank God for the medical doctors that are doing everything they know.  You know, I just give the glory to God. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s the prayer or if it’s the doctors working or if it’s a combination of both.  I just want to see you get well, from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet. And I praise God for it.  Let’s give the Lord a good handclap. RR:  Melva, do you have one you want to share, you and Larry? nephew was healed from broken ribs.  A three-wheel motorcycle fell on him, broke his ribs and collapsed his lungs.  And Lindsay gave a word of knowledge and he received his healing and was released from the hospital after being there one day.  He’s up running around and free Praise God.  (Applause)

RR:  A call from Wichita, Kansas.  “My right ear had been giving me trouble for the past eight months.  I could hardly hear out of it, plus, there was constant itching and pain.  But yesterday, Richard, you said someone was being healed in their right ear. Before I realized it fully, I had received healing in my ear.  I can hear perfectly and all of the itching and pain is gone.” (Applause)  And here’s a call from Grant Pass, Oregon.  Oh, listen to this.  “I’d misplaced an important check.”  You know, you need prayer when you misplace an important check, especially if it’s your paycheck.  “I called the Abundant Life Prayer Group”–Now, you know, somebody might say, “Well now, God’s not interested in helping you find a check.” 

LR:  Oh, yes, He is.

RR:  Brother, He’s interested, sister, He’s interested in prospering you in every way and that means finding checks.  “I called the Abundant Life Prayer Group and the prayer partner prayed with me that I would find a check and that God would lead me to it.  It wasn’t but five minutes and I found it.” (Applause)  It’s a good testimony.

LR:  That reminds me of something that just happened.  I was in the grocery store the other day with a little fourteen-year-old girl who it in the grocery store.  And tore the place apart, went through all I know it’s gone.”  I said, “Honey, do you believe God gave that to you?”  And she said, “Yes.”  I said, “Do you believe God would be happy if the devil stole it away from you?” She said, “No.”  I said, “Then you and I are going to agree right now that God knows where it is and He’s going to reveal to you where it is.”  Do you know, a man was walking out of the store and had it hooked on the bottom of his heel on his shoe walking out and as she got behind him, the bracelet feel off.  She bent down and picked it up and got it back.  See, God knows what means something to us.  (Applause)  And He’s concerned about little things and big things.

RR:  Miracles.  Praise God for it.  And I’ve got good news, if you’re in the Dallas area, you who are in the Dallas area, pay attention to what I’m going to say because I have been invited by Larry and Melva This coming Friday night–well, let’s see, Lindsay’s going to be speaking at a womens banquet on Saturday.

ML:  Saturday morning at 9:30. 

RR:  Saturday morning. 

ML:  Yes, ladies conference.

RR:  And then on Sunday I’m going to be preaching in one of your Sunday morning services. 

LL:  10 a.m. 

LL:  5:30 in the afternoon.

LL:  And signs and wonders.  to go, there are miracles.  Not because of me but because of Jesus. Lindsay, share a testimony. 

LR:  I have two good testimonies.  This is from a lady in El Paso, said, “About three weeks ago you had a word of knowledge that someone was being healed of a growth on their back.”  And they said, “You described where it was and you made me turn around and show the location where the growth was.”  She said, “Yesterday her sister They believed for three weeks and it was manifested.  Thank God she didn’t give up during those three weeks because it wasn’t instant.

RR:  Praise the Lord. 

LR:  You know, that’s something.  If you don’t see the manifestation of your healing right on the spot, for heaven’s sake don’t give up. important thing.  period of time.

LR:  That’s right.  They’re a process sometimes.  This lady called, and this is really precious because do you remember the other day we

RR:  Yes, that was from the Word Explosion.

LR:  That’s right.  She said she had been taken away from her parents as a child, apparently kidnapped, and she has been in bondage that that same kidnapping might happen to her children. And she said we talked about the fear on that clip.  And she said at that moment she gave that fear to God and said she wanted to be set free.  She said, “I have the peace of God today and I am not going to worry about my children.  I’ve given them to God.” (Applause)  Praise God.

RR: Well, give the Lord Jesus a good handclap. (Applause) Hello, everybody. Welcome to Richard Roberts Live. I understand we have a big tour group, Elsie’s tour group from, is it Seguin, Texas, is that right? Stand up and let us give you a good handclap. Give them a and the Healing Outreach Center. And if you just tuned in, you’re tuned in to a miracle program, not because of us, but because of the power of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of the living God. I believe in the healing power of God. I believe in miracles. and strategies of the devil? Well, let me give you the answer from the Apostle Paul in Ephesians, chapter 6, when he says, “Finally, my (or the tricks or strategies) of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day. And having done all to stand, stand therefore, having your loins gird about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness and your feet can walk over the devil’s roughest territory. “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword and supplication in the Spirit.” That means praying in the Spirit, praying in tongues, then praying in your own language, in English. the whole armor of God and we can withstand all of the fiery darts of the evil one.” What does that mean to you and me? It means we win. whole armor of God, we win. When we stand fast in the name of Jesus, it means we can be victorious over the devil’s roar, whether it, whether it’s the devil’s roar of sickness or disease or the devil’s roar coming against your finances or coming against your family or your home or coming against your marriage or coming against your business or your job or coming against you with some relationship, it means we can stand in the name of Jesus and put on the whole armor of God and we can win over the situation. (Applause) Now that’s good going to happen. I’ll tell you what’s going to happen. We’re going to give you good news, good news that you can win. RR:  I appreciate that.  And before we close, Lindsay, I want to say a word, all this past week and the week before I’ve been raising a special Seed-Faith project.  You know, to come into Mabee Center to watch the ORU teams play, you’ve got to cross over Fred Creek. There’s a creek out here that’s called Fred Creek.  We don’t know how it got named Fred, but it was named Fred Creek.  And there are four bridges that go across that creek, two car bridges and two pedestrian bridges.  The students have to walk across the bridges and the cars have to drive across the bridges.  And on the 20th of August all the students will be returning and classes begin a few days later.  And we are remodeling and rebuilding those bridges and we are remodeling and reshaping the creek channel.  There you’ve got a live picture outside right now of the men working.  And I’ve been raising a special Seed-Faith project, the bridge over Fred River.  We’ve got to do some repair work.  We’re in the midst of doing it now. And people have been sowing special seeds of faith to help me with this project.  And as we close this program I want to remind you we still need help. Will you sow a seed today?  Perhaps God will move on your heart to sow a seed of $100.  Or maybe He’ll lay on your heart to sow a seed of $50, or maybe $1,000.  It’s going to cost about $250,000 to repair the bridges and to repair the actual channel of the creek.  You see, all of the sub-divisions have been built around ORU and we get all their flood waters.  And sometimes it comes down there like a raging river. And it has widened the creek channel and widened it.  We even have a cooling tower out there.  Well, you can see some of the damage there. We have a cooling tower that’s very near the creek.  And if we go much longer, that cooling tower will slip right into the creek and be demolished.  So we must do it.  It’s very, very important and I need your help.  As you know, tomorrow I’m going to be getting ready to go to Australia and Lindsay and Billy Joe and Sharon are going to continue this project.  Those construction men that you saw out there are working by faith. They’re believing that the partners of our ministry are going to join with us and sow a seed.  Just as I came in the studio a woman handed me a check for $50.  Lindsay, it’s right here.  Here it is, somewhere.  Here’s a check from a woman who said, “Yes, I’ll help you for the repairing of the bridge.”  And I thank every partner who helps me with this Seed-Faith project.  We’ve had lots of Seed-Faith projects this summer on this campus. We’ve remodeled all the dormitories.  THe dormitories look better than they’ve looked in 16 years.  And I’m so thrilled.  The students are going to be so excited when they get back and see those dormitories. But will you help me on the rechanneling of Fred Creek and the rebuilding of these four bridges.  It’s very, very important.  We must get it done by the 20th of August.  That is my deadline.  Please send a Seed-Faith gift.  And remember, when you do, God will open you the windows of heaven.  He will pour you out a blessing where there shall not be room enough to receive it.  And He will rebuke the devourer for your sake.  That means God will turn the situation around and bring you the financial blessing that you need.  Thank you for sowing your seed.  No matter what it is, large or small, I praise God for it. RR:  God, I thank You for Wayman, for his witness and for the athletic ability You’ve placed in his heart.  Lord, I thank You for Ted Owens as our athletic director.  I pray a double portion anointing to be upon him as he leads our entire athletic program. Lord, we are in athletics for a reason, and that is to be a witness for Jesus Christ, that the young men and the young women who represent this university, Oral Roberts University, would always be a witness, a bold witness. For the Bible says to go into every man’s world, preach the gospel. Lord, there are lots of people that are in the athletic world and they’ve not been reached for Jesus Christ.  May we be an extension of Your hand to reach them for Jesus Christ and to make a_ difference, but not just a difference, to make the___ difference in their lives.  I thank You, Father, for the Spirit of God that I feel upon me right now.  And I want to say a special word to those of you that are young persons and perhaps those of you that are older persons who have either been experimenting with drugs or you’ve been offered drugs and you don’t know what to do.  Perhaps there’s been all kinds of peer pressure on you that you must take them or that you won’t be one of the crowd.  I want to say something to you.  In my lifetime I’ve been offered many things.  When I was a high school student, when I was a college student I was offered drugs.  Yes, even back in the sixties there were a lot of drugs that were going around.  They didn’t make the national headlines like they did in the seventies and the eighties, but they were going on.  They were available to me any time I wanted them.  And even though I was not serving Christ at the time, something inside me told me not to do it.  Now I know now that was not a something, that was a Someone.  That was the Holy Spirit.  The Spirit moved on me to stay away from that.  And then there came a day when I received Christ as my personal Savior.  I was deeply involved in athletics.  I played basketball in high school.  I played golf in high school on teams.  I love athletics.  I’ve always loved athletics and played sports.  But I avoided drugs. And I want to say this word and it’s a strong word and it’s a good word for you, pay no attention to the young person who comes up to you and says, “You’re not going to make it, you’re not going to be in the group, in the click, unless you take drugs.” Pay no attention to that.  That’s a lie of the devil. Disassociate yourself with that person.  Now that’s what Wayman said.  He said, “I didn’t do it to try to be better than anybody else.”  He just said, “I knew that wasn’t for me.”  Put that thing aside.  And also, for the person who would come up to you and say, “You will be a better athlete, you’ll perform better if you’re high while you’re playing sports.”  That’s also a lie of the devil.  Don’t swallow that.  Forget it.  Put it aside.  God has given you all of the ability that you need.  And the way to get more of that ability out is to take the coaches that you work with and allow them to work with you.  Here is a young man who is a star in the NBA, but here this summer he’s been here and he’s been some right here on our campus talking and working always trying to improve himself, but not through drugs and alcohol and things of that nature.  You can live without it.  That’s a good will set you free.”  (Applause)  Praise God.  Wayman, God bless you for your strong witness.  Ted, God bless you for your strong witness.

RR: Well, let’s, in these moments we have before we close our program today, let’s join hands together and let’s pray. And I don’t know if this has happened on live television before or not, but I’m going to ask an athletic director and a star of the National Basketball Association and a pregnant woman and an evangelist all to pray together. Let’s all just have a brief word of prayer and just whatever’s on your heart. Ted, would you just lead a prayer first.

TO: Our dear Heavenly Father, thank You for this day and thank You for allowing us to have Wayman on this television show to share his witness for You, Christ. And dear Heavenly Father, go with him in his NBA career and help him continue to touch the lives of many, many people.

RR: Wayman, would you particularly pray for young people that are watching this program right now.

WT: Dear Heavenly Father, just one of Your sons coming to you asking You for help for the young people around the world, asking You to bless them and keep them away from the drugs, keep them away from bad habits and keep them away from all hurt, harm and danger. Dear Heavenly Father, we realize that You hold everything in Your hands and we ask You to bless us as we live each day through this terrible world. Dear God, just thank You for my blessing my career as You have already and just ask You tocontinue to bless it. Thank You.

RR: Lindsay.

LR: Father, I pray for every young athlete. I pray for everyone that thinks that they have to go out and prove something through athletics. But I pray that they will know that God loves them and they don’t have to prove anything. They don’t have to become anything, but first become a child of God. And when they get God s their Source, the rest will become easy. I pray, Lord, for their self-image, that they aren’t trying to go out there to prove to the world who they are, but just as Wayman did, go out and prove something really wonderful, that Jesus Christ is Lord of all. And, Lord, I pray that the young people of this time of athletics would have the boldness to get up and say, yes, I know Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I’m not going to be ashamed of it. And, no, I don’t want anything to do with drugs and Tisdale and say, if he can do it and become a great basketball player, a great athlete and yet a great witness for God, then so can I. I pray that young people today would be encouraged to stand up for the rights in Jesus Christ and put down the drugs and not be ashamed of it, but have holy boldness, in Jesus’ name.

RR:  Praise God for that.  (Applause)  Ted, as the men’s basketball coach and as the athletic director, give us a little preview of this coming year because not long after the NBA season begins, the college season will be beginning and we’ll be right in the heart of basketball by late November here at ORU.  Say a word about what, what you feel in your heart about athletics at

ORU in general and also about basketball in particular. 

TO:  Well, I’m excited about our overall program.  Number one, is that we have a group of people that are really working together. Jack Wallace joined us on our staff and is my associate director. We’re just hiring an outstanding marketing man, and so we’re developing a team.  And if you expect to have a team on the floor, you have to have a team working in administration.  And we’re getting that altogether and we feel that our purpose is just what we talked about earlier, is to serve this ministry. It’s to witness on the court and on the baseball diamond or in whatever endeavor, is to witness for this ministry.  We’ve taken some giant strides in the last year.  Not only are we a much better basketball team coming into this year. Incidentally, I think that we’ll be 50% maybe better than we were a year ago.  I believe then the following year that we’ll be a real national power. 

RR:  Going to hold you to that, Ted.

TO:  You bet.  I’m cutting my own throat there.

RR:  Wayman, we need your help. 

LR:  How many brothers do you have?

RR:  Do you have any brothers that can play? 

WT:  No, I’m the youngest.

RR:  Oh, you’re the youngest.  TO:  I’ve been excited, Wayman came out to see me early in the summer and he said, “Coach, I’m no longer the biggest big man on the court. There are the Jabbars and the great big players.”  And so he’s converting to being an outside player.  And we’ve had a lot of fun this summer.  We spent a great deal of time together working on his outside game. And believe me, he’s going to be ever bit as effective outside in time as he is inside.  (Applause)  But it’s a joy, it’s an inspiration to me to work with him every day and to share, and you can just feel the Spirit of God in Wayman.  I tell all our players, when you’re playing don’t let anything bother you. Don’t let your opponent–like the commercial says, don’t let them see you sweat. Well, that’s the way Wayman played.  He was the best example of that of any player I’ve ever seen.

And your dad shared something with me. He said, “Terry, the Bible teaches about the gifts of healings. Gifts is plural and healings is plural.” (Yes, it is) And he said, “There are many different delivery systems that God brings healing,” and that’s why we’ve got this beautiful City of Faith here. This is bringing healing to the sick. Your ministry is bringing healing to the sick. My ministry is bringing healing to the sick, all different delivery systems. And that’s why I’m so tied in with the program here. I’m so excited about the university and what God’s doing in the hospital.

We’re saying something to the nation. We’re letting the nation know that God is a healing God. He’s reaching out. He’s touching you. He’s ministering to you right now where you are. And there’s a healing power. Right now this program is dedicated to healing. This young man, the anointing and ministry of God, the touch of God on his life, is dedicated to reach out and touch you. And God’s doing it today. Praise God for that.

You know, Terry, I am reminded. I said it’s not in the Bible, but as you talk I’m reminded of the Scripture where it says, “He sent his word and healed them.” (Amen) Now that’s what we’re doing today on this program. We’re sending forth God’s Word. We’re not bringing you our words. We’re bringing you the Word of God. (Amen, praise the Lord) And the Bible says that the Word of God will not come back void. God watches over His Word to perform it.

And God’s Word, the Bible says in Hebrews 4:12, is alive and full of power. It’s active. It’s active in your life. You say, well I don’t feel His power. Well, friend, just stay tuned. In a moment we’re going to pray. And when we pray, I’m expecting something to begin in your life. I really am. (Amen) Terry, you said that you are tied into this ministry, and I believe you are. You and I have known each other since we attended Oral Roberts University. You’ve been around the world many times preaching the gospel.

And I wish you’d share an experience that has just happened. You’ve taken teams, evangelistic teams throughout the world, especially behind the Iron Curtain. You probably have had more success for Jesus behind the Iron Curtain than anyone I know. And something happened this week. One of your team members, a Soviet citizen, was killed in a plane crash in Russia.

There’s been very little, virtually nothing said about it in the news. But you received word, some special word, and I wish you’d share about that and let the people know and call us to pray for it.

Today and I focus my faith in on your needs. Someone is receiving
a healing in your ear and also pain on the right side of your
neck is being healed right now. I focus my faith. In the name
of Jesus Christ, I pray for you to be delivered today. For those
of you who have some habit in your life that you want to give up.
Maybe there’s something in your life you’d like to give up. I’m
not talking about something that’s going to send you to hell. I’m
just talking about there’s something in your life you’d like to
give up. Maybe you’d like to give up cigarette smoking like that
woman whose letter I read. Maybe you’d like to give up alcohol.
Maybe you’re on drugs. Maybe there’s something. Maybe you’ve
been lying. Maybe you’ve cheated somebody. Maybe you’ve taken
something that doesn’t belong to you. Maybe there’s something
else. Maybe you’ve had a cross word with somebody and you feel
like they owe you an apology but inside you know you need to be
the one apologizing. I pray for you today. I pray for God to
deliver you of that thing. And if there’s some situation in your
life that you need to go and make right and you feel like someone
else needs to start first, I pray that you’d do what I’ve made up
my mind to do in those kind of situations, even when I feel that
someone has offended me or hurt me, that I’ll go to them. I’ll
go to them and ask them to forgive me. And, friend, when you do
that, I believe that situation can begin to be healed. I really
believe that. I’m expecting it in your life. I pray for those of
you who have never accepted Christ as your personal Savior. Just
lay your hand on yourself and pray this prayer out loud, as
everyone prays this prayer. O Lord, be merciful to me a sinner.
I’m a sinner, Lord, and I’m sorry. I repent. I change my mind.
I turn my back on the sin. I confess it. I’m sorry. I receive
Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. Come into my heart, Lord
Jesus. Save my soul. Fill me with Your Spirit. Put that joy in
my life. I receive Christ right now. Friend, if you’re praying
this prayer and you mean it, I mean you’re sincere, Jesus is
entering your heart and you’ll never be the same again. So many
thousands of people have come to Jesus through this program. Oh,
I praise God. I praise God. I praise God, Terry.
