And I said, “I’m going to challenge you with a new project that God’s put on my heart. The Lord has called us to get the Word of God to the underground church. So many people don’t have access to Scripture at all.” And I said, “I’m going to ask you to set up a distribution system for me. And the way to do this,” I won’t go into describing all of the elements because of the national audiences listening to us at this point and who else may be listening.
But (Yes) I sat across the table and I said, “Now this may cost you your life. You’re going to have to make a decision that’s going to involve you for the rest of your life. And I said, “I’m not going to ask you to make a decision now.” I said, “Why don’t you pray about it overnight and we’ll discuss it tomorrow.” They came back to me the next day and they said, “Terry, we’ve prayed about it and we feel that God’s put it on our heart and we’re willing implementation systems were in place. The Word of God was being disseminated throughout the underground church.
And I was shocked two days ago to be awakened in the early morning. I’d just flown in from Singapore. I was still in jet lag. And I picked up the telephone and there was a woman crying on the other end of the line. The operator was saying, “Here’s a call from the Soviet Union.” It’s a bit of a shock to get that kind of a call right here in Tulsa. And there was a young lady on the phone, I’ll call her Anna.
And she was crying and she said, “Terry, my husband Victor,” –and it was Victor and Anna that I had spoken to in that particular session–she said, “My husband Victor has just been killed in a plane crash in another part of the country.” Now we don’t even know about it in the United States yet. It’s three days later, two days later and it’s not even been published here. This is the way they handle a lot of tragedies like that in that country.
